Finnish and Pakistani Stakeholders Unite at Business Summit


Islamabad: The Finland-Pakistan Business Summit 2025 witnessed a convergence of key stakeholders from both nations, fostering collaboration in energy and education sectors. Representatives from the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) participated actively, highlighting their partnership with Finnish institutions under the PAFIIC project.



NUMS delegates, Dr. Ghazal Farrukh and Dr. Saira Hafeez, engaged with directors, managers, and leaders from various sectors, discussing future possibilities. Their presence underscored NUMS’ commitment to fostering international collaboration.



High-profile attendees included H.E. Ambassador Hannu Ripatti, Wartsila MD Alexandre Eykerman, and Honorary Consul General Wille Eerola. Discussions revolved around innovation and education’s transformative potential. Notably, a meeting with Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Trade, Jam Kamal Khan, explored potential collaborations, including in space technology.



The summit saw Finnish companies like Tana Oy, NordShield®, and FCS Finland exploring the Pakistani market. Educational institutions from Finland, including the University of Turku, strengthened ties with Pakistani entities such as NUTECH and NUMS.



The FPBS Education Afternoon, led by Finnish Global Education Solutions, showcased innovations in biogas, dental technology, and telecommunications, with prominent companies like Wartsila and Nokia participating.



Special acknowledgment was given to Mika Alhonkoski from Turku Vocational Institute, the PAFIIC project lead, for his support. Contributions from Dr. Nishat Riaz of the Malala Fund and other experts enriched discussions, particularly on space missions like iCube Qamar.



The summit set the stage for continued collaboration, aiming for a brighter future through shared innovation and partnership.
