Karachi: Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, President of the Epilepsy Foundation Pakistan, emphasized that comprehensive care for epilepsy patients extends beyond managing seizures. The seminars, titled "Extending Care for Seizure Management," were held in Islamabad and Lahore with sponsorship from Getz Pharma, a prominent pharmaceutical company in Pakistan.

According to Aafia Movement, Dr. Siddiqui, who is also a Senior Consultant Neurologist at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, highlighted the importance of prevention and lifestyle integration to reduce hospital visits and improve patients' quality of life. She stressed that first-aid during a seizure is not sufficient, and long-term strategies like regular medication and trigger avoidance are crucial. The events aimed to raise awareness and dispel myths around epilepsy in Pakistan.

In Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Badshah and Dr. M. Usman Malik joined as panelists, reinforcing that epilepsy is a treatable condition with modern medications enhancing patient outcomes. The seminars attracted a large audience of neurologists, neurosurgeons, physicians, and medical students.
