However, Jordan Cox and Joe Root stabilized the innings with an unbeaten partnership, both reaching half-centuries to secure the win.

Joe Root's performance marked his second half-century of the series, following his earlier contribution in Leeds. Root, who returned as captain after Ben Stokes stepped down post-New Zealand series, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance. Pakistan captain Babar Azam reflected on the difficulties faced by his team, particularly in adapting to English conditions. He emphasized the need for introspection and strategic planning moving forward. "We need to sit down and admit our mistakes, and then work out our best eleven," Azam said, acknowledging the potential shown by new players despite the series outcome.
