Karachi: Dow University of Health Sciences recently organized a “Kashmir Walk” led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Nazli Hussain, emphasizing the need to resolve the Kashmir issue based on United Nations resolutions. During the event, participants advocated for the right of Kashmiris to self-determination and expressed solidarity with their cause.
According to Dow University of Health Sciences, the march began at the university’s Ojha campus and featured remarks from Professor Hussain who highlighted the long-standing issue of Kashmir since India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which he described as a violation of UN resolutions and an infringement on the rights of the Kashmiri people. Faculty members, including Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Jahan Araya, Registrar Dr. Ashar Afaq, and several other dignitaries and students, participated in the rally, carrying banners and chanting slogans in support of Kashmiri autonomy and their historical ties to Pakistan.
Professor Hussain reinforced the sentiment that Pakistan’s support for Kashmir is unwavering and that the international community should recognize the rights of Kashmiris as per the 1949 United Nations resolution. He also expressed hope that if given the choice, Kashmiris would opt to align with Pakistan.
The event culminated with strong expressions of solidarity and calls for action, emphasizing the ongoing commitment of the participants to the cause of Kashmiri freedom.
