Karachi: Dow University of Health Sciences organized a series of events over the past week to commemorate the completion of one year of the Battle for Truth and the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. As part of these celebrations, a special ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid to express solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan, with participation from students, faculty members, and staff.
According to Dow University of Health Sciences, participants carried Pakistan's national flags and banners of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. The ceremony paid tribute to national unity, the sacrifices of the armed forces, and their role in safeguarding the country. The celebrations marking one year of the Battle for Truth and the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos reflected a commitment to patriotism, national cohesion, public health, and the promotion of sports activities.
In the same connection, the Institute of Business and Health Management and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences organized a free eye-screening camp for employees of Tata Textile Mills. The camp aimed to ensure early diagnosis of eye diseases among workers and provide access to healthcare services. A total of 164 employees underwent eye examinations during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, officials stated that the initiative represented a step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG-3 relating to health and well-being. The contributions of Professor Dr. Asma Faisal and Yasmeen in organizing the event were appreciated.
As part of the same series of activities, the Sports Directorate also organized the Battle for Truth Badminton Tournament. Students from various departments of the university participated in the competition. Matches were held in the categories of girls' singles, boys' singles, girls' doubles, and boys' doubles, promoting competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The university administration appreciated the efforts of all organizers, participants, and supporters of these events, stating that such programs play a role in promoting national unity, patriotism, healthy activities, and social responsibility.
