Karachi: The Independence Day celebrations at Dow Medical College and Dow University Hospital were marked by flag-hoisting and cake-cutting ceremonies, as students and faculty gathered to express their patriotism and commitment to the country's development.
According to Dow University of Health Sciences, the Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Sajida Qureshi, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of freedom and the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to the nation's progress. She highlighted that the younger generation, especially medical students, have a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan through education, research, and service.
The events, attended by faculty members including Principal Professor Saba Sohail and several others, included patriotic slogans and special prayers for the country's well-being. A special Meena Bazaar organized by female students added to the celebrations, with decorations reflecting national pride. At Dow University Hospital, a similar ceremony was held under the supervision of Medical Superintendent Dr. Khursheed Samoo.
