Islamabad: A University of Central Punjab (UCP) professor recently led a national workshop on utilizing cutting-edge bioinformatics techniques in microbial research. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naveed, from UCP’s Department of Biotechnology, served as the lead trainer and guest speaker at the “Advanced Bioinformatics Tools in Microbial Secondary Metabolites Discovery” workshop.
The event, hosted by the Department of Biochemistry at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) in Multan in 2025, focused on advanced methods for analyzing microbial genomes. Dr. Naveed’s presentation, titled “Decoding Microbial Potential through Whole Genome Sequencing and Computational Tools,” explored the application of genomic sequencing and computational analysis in understanding the potential of microorganisms.
