Lahore: The Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Skill Development Fund (PSDF), Mr. Ahmad Khan, visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore, where he met with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani to discuss potential collaborations for funding opportunities in smart livestock farming training.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the meeting, presided over by Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, brought together key faculty members, including the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, the Dean of the Faculty of Bio-sciences, Prof. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman, and the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Production & Technology, Prof. Dr. Saima, along with other senior faculty and administrative officers. Mr. Ahmad Khan emphasized the importance of collaboration between industry and academia to successfully secure projects, as well as the need for proper certification and sustainability to meet market demand. He also acknowledged the quality of education and research at UVAS.

Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani highlighted the challenges faced by the education system due to rapid modern-day innovations. He explained that UVAS is incorporating courses on Artificial Intelligence and 'One Health' into its curriculum to produce skilled graduates who can contribute to national progress and economic strength. Dr. Rabbani briefed the attendees on UVAS's development projects, including plans to convert Ravi Campus Pattoki into an Agro-Livestock Tourism Resort, and initiatives like modern dairy farming training for livestock farmers aimed at boosting the country's milk and meat production. The visit also included a presentation by Dr. Naveed-ul-Haq on the "Climate-Smart Livestock Skill Program."
