Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore hosted a book launching ceremony for “Legacy Beyond Leadership: The Role of Moral Authority in Creating Sustainable Change,” authored by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Arshad Mahmood, HI(M), SJ. The event, organized by UET’s Literary Society, was presided over by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI), with the author himself serving as the chief guest.
During his address, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir commended the book, describing it as an essential resource for young people and future leaders. He noted that the work not only outlines leadership principles but also underscores the necessity of moral values to effect sustainable change.
Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Arshad Mahmood shared insights from his book, asserting that genuine leadership arises from character and ethics rather than authority or power. He emphasized the ability of moral leaders to inspire positive change.
The ceremony was attended by former Vice Chancellors, including Prof. Dr. Nizamuddin, Prof. Dr. Akram Chaudhry, Prof. Dr. Nadeem Bhatti, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Malik, and Prof. Dr. Munawar Mirza, as well as faculty members from the University of Punjab and other distinguished guests. Attendees praised the book’s theme and content.
