Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Urges Restraint Amid Tensions on Pakistan-Afghanistan Border

Islamabad: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has raised concerns over escalating tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, urging Afghan authorities to exercise restraint to preserve regional peace.

In a statement, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari described the aggression by Afghan forces as a significant threat to the region’s peace and stability. He emphasized the importance of addressing these tensions to ensure collective efforts toward prosperity are not undermined.

Bilawal praised the Pakistani armed forces for their measured response, highlighting their commitment to maintaining peace while safeguarding national territory and civilian lives. He stressed the importance of a professional and restrained approach in confronting border challenges.

He called on the Taliban administration in Kabul to take decisive action against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory. He warned that these groups imperil not only Pakistan but also the wider region’s security and future.

“Pakistan desires a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan,” Bilawal stated, urging the Taliban leadership to engage in meaningful dialogue and cooperation to achieve lasting peace.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s policy of maintaining good relations with its neighbors, Bilawal expressed hope that the interim Afghan government will ensure Afghan soil is not used against Pakistan. He advocated for both nations to collaborate in promoting peace and prosperity across the region.
