Lahore: In a bid to enhance road safety for cyclists and motorcyclists, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the construction of dedicated biker lanes on all roads in Lahore. The initiative, which follows Beijing’s model, aims to reduce accidents and improve traffic flow in the city.
According to a statement by Chief Minister of Punjab, a pilot project has commenced, designating separate lanes for cyclists and motorcyclists. The first phase includes a 10-kilometer lane stretching from Ferozepur Road Canal Road to Lahore Bridge. These lanes will be marked in green and other colors to ensure clear demarcation.
Chief Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of public cooperation to make the pilot project successful. She encouraged citizens to adhere to the new traffic arrangements, highlighting that the initiative is designed to protect lives and prevent accidents.
