Karachi: Beaconhouse School and Five Star School are set to face off in the final of the Naya Nazimabad Inter-School Championship on Thursday, marking the culmination of an intense month of cricket. The match will take place at the Naya Nazimabad Ground at 3:30 p.m., with the toss scheduled for 3 p.m.
Fans will have free entry to the event, which will be broadcast on Fast Sports, Geo Super, and PTV National. Additionally, audiences outside Pakistan can watch the live stream on the PCB YouTube Channel, while Tapmad will stream it locally.
Following the match, attendees can look forward to a fireworks display and a performance by singer Havi. The championship winner will receive a prize of PKR one million, and the runner-up will take home PKR 500,000. Individual accolades include PKR 50,000 each for the best batter, bowler, wicket-keeper, and player of the tournament, while the player of the final will earn PKR 15,000.
The tournament, featuring eight schools, began on November 30 with a round-robin format. Beaconhouse and Five Star advanced to the final after securing victories in six league-stage matches each. Mohammad Yaqoob of Five Star leads the batting statistics with 291 runs, while Hamza Nadeem of Beaconhouse follows with 251.
On the bowling front, Umer Irfan of Beaconhouse has claimed 22 wickets, placing him ahead of Mohammad Aqil from Hira Foundation, who has 21. Aaish Malik of Standard School and Shahzil Farooqi of Five Star are tied with 19 wickets each.
