Babar Farooqui, Pasban Newspaper Editor, Laid to Rest in Karachi

Karachi: Babar Farooqui, the editor of the Pasban newspaper and a prominent figure within the Pasban Democratic Party, was laid to rest at Muhammad Shah Graveyard in North Karachi. His passing was met with expressions of sorrow from political, social, and literary personalities, with many attending his funeral prayer.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, notable figures such as PASBAN Chairman Altaf Shakoor, General Secretary Iqbal Hashmi, and Vice Chairman Azam Minhas were among those who expressed regret over the death of Farooqui. Known for his role as a columnist, poet, and writer, Farooqui was a key member of the PASBAN think tank. His contributions included organizing mushairas and academic and literary meetings, which were notable for their impact on the community.

Farooqui played a significant role in the first protest demonstration by Pasban concerning the abduction of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, held in 2008 at North Nazimabad, Timuriya Masjid. His funeral was attended by various figures from the political, social, and literary arenas, who offered special prayers for his forgiveness and a place in Jannat al-Firdus, as well as prayers for patience for his family.
