Gaza: Despite the closure of borders hindering the entry of external aid into Gaza, the Alkhidmat Foundation has continued its operations by utilizing pre-stored supplies and local volunteer support. The foundation, which had anticipated potential border closures, had strategically stored four months’ worth of supplies within Gaza prior to the end of the ceasefire on March 18, 2025. These preparations have allowed Alkhidmat to continue providing daily essentials to approximately 3,000 Palestinians.
In addition to utilizing stored resources, Alkhidmat is leveraging financial transfers to support its efforts. Bank transfers to Palestine remain feasible, enabling the foundation to send funds to local volunteers. These funds are used to procure supplies for Alkhidmat kitchens, which are essential for preparing and distributing meals to those in need.
Since October 7, 2023, the foundation has actively collaborated with the Government of Pakistan and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to facilitate the delivery of aid to Gaza. This collaboration included the use of cargo planes and ships, with relief goods being transported through Egypt and Jordan. The Rafah Border served as the entry point for these supplies into Gaza, benefiting thousands of Palestinian families.
Beyond its efforts within Gaza, Alkhidmat is also providing support to Palestinian refugee families in Egypt through its Cairo warehouse. Additionally, the foundation is aiding students from Gaza who have relocated to Pakistan, offering them housing, food, education, and other necessary facilities.
Despite the temporary halt of the “Rebuild Gaza” campaign following the ceasefire’s end, Alkhidmat remains committed to its mission. The campaign, valued at 15 billion rupees, aimed to reconstruct homes, masajid, hospitals, and water projects in Gaza, and to build a residential tower for refugee families in Egypt. Alkhidmat expresses a strong desire for a permanent ceasefire and is prepared to accelerate aid delivery once borders reopen.
The foundation acknowledges the indispensable support from its international and Pakistani donors, whose contributions have enabled the delivery of aid to Gaza. Alkhidmat continues to appeal for ongoing support to maintain its efforts in reaching Palestinian families with essential supplies.
