Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi recently presented the children’s theater play “Ali and the Dragon” as part of the 38-day World Culture Festival, captivating an audience of school students with a tale of bravery and adventure.
According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the play, performed on the 36th day of the festival in Auditorium I, featured a story about a kingdom plagued by a dragon that threatens the livelihood of its people. Written by Uzma Sabeen and scored by Arshad Mehmood, the production included performances by actors Haris Khan, Iram Basheer, Ahmer Hussain, and others. The narrative follows a young hero, Ali, and the royal chef, Shaheen, as they undertake a perilous journey to defeat the dragon and bring prosperity back to their kingdom.
The one-hour play was met with enthusiasm from the young audience, who showed their appreciation through vigorous applause and praises for the cast, indicating a successful engagement with the themes of courage and communal well-being portrayed in the performance.
