AKU-EB Recognized for Contributing to Global Educational Assessment Standards

Karachi: The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) has been acknowledged for its vital role in the development of the International Standards for Educational Assessment, a project spearheaded by the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) that was officially launched in May 2024. These standards are set to guide best practices in educational examinations and assessments globally.

According to The Aga Khan University, Dr. Naveed Yousuf, CEO of AKU-EB, represented Pakistan on the IAEA Recognition Committee that led the seven-year initiative. The committee was instrumental in establishing comprehensive benchmarks that aim to ensure validity, reliability, and fairness in educational assessments across different contexts. The standards are designed to aid organizations in improving their assessment practices through operational guidance and self-evaluation.

The IAEA’s recent report highlighted the significant contributions of various international organizations, including AKU-EB, in testing and refining these standards. Their collaborative efforts are expected to enhance educational assessment methods worldwide, promoting a more standardized and equitable approach to academic evaluations.
