Air Power and Precision: Lessons from “Marka-e-Haq” Session

Lahore: The Voltaire Society recently hosted an insightful session featuring Air Marshal (R) Shahid Akhtar, the former Ambassador of Pakistan to Syria, who discussed strategic military concepts under the session title “Marka-e-Haq.”

In his address, Air Marshal Shahid Akhtar elaborated on Pakistan’s strategic response mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of proportional and precise retaliation. He noted the significance of re-establishing deterrence while maintaining a controlled yet decisive military posture.

Highlighting the role of air power in conflict scenarios, he pointed out its effectiveness in minimizing ground vulnerabilities. The session underscored the flexibility and dominance of air power, which are crucial in modern military engagements.

Concluding the session, Prof. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, offered closing remarks. The event ended with Dr. Hammad Naveed, Pro-Rector of the University of Central Punjab, presenting a commemorative souvenir to Air Marshal Shahid Akhtar.
