Lahore: A workshop on AI-driven enzyme design and engineering has been organized to provide participants with essential computational skills in rational protein engineering and enzyme design. The event, aimed at enhancing capabilities in biotechnology, drug discovery, and synthetic biology, was hosted by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization.
According to University of Central Punjab, the training was led by Dr. Sumera Zaib, a professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology. The workshop saw active participation from students and researchers, offering hands-on activities that included sequence retrieval and analysis, physicochemical assessment, structure prediction, pocket mapping, sequence design, mutational analysis, and codon optimization. The session aimed to equip attendees with skills to leverage AI-assisted methods in their respective fields.
