Islamabad: Aghosh Orphan Care Home, affiliated with Minhaj-ul-Quran, celebrated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a solidarity march, drawing significant participation from teachers and students.
According to Minhaj-ul-Quran International announcement issued on 15 August 2024, the event featured a speech by Colonel (Retired) Mubashir Iqbal, Director of Aghosh Complex, who emphasized the precious nature of freedom and sovereignty. He reflected on the historical importance of August 14th, describing it as a pivotal milestone for the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent in achieving their goal of independence. Colonel Mubashir used this occasion to remind attendees of the sacrifices made by martyrs for Pakistan’s freedom and the ongoing responsibility to honor these sacrifices by striving towards national goals.
The event also included participation from notable educators including Imran Zafar Butt, Altaf Hussain Randhawa, Nasir Rofi, and Arif Hussain, who joined the students and other faculty members in the march, underscoring a collective commitment to learning from the past and building a promising future for the country.
