ADB Country Director Discusses Development Projects with President Zardari in Islamabad

Islamabad: Yong Ye, the Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), met with President Asif Ali Zardari today at Aiwan-e-Sadar to discuss the bank’s ongoing contributions to Pakistan’s socio-economic development. The meeting highlighted the significant role of the ADB in supporting the country, especially in the aftermath of recent floods.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the ADB Country Director briefed President Zardari on the bank’s initiatives in agriculture, irrigation, and education, which are pivotal for the nation’s growth. President Zardari expressed appreciation for the ADB’s efforts and discussed Pakistan’s measures to combat climate change, including extensive mangrove reforestation.

The discussion also touched upon the importance of continuing robust partnerships between Pakistan and international financial institutions to further the country’s development agenda. Additionally, the meeting coincided with a farewell call by the outgoing Ambassador of Greece, Konstantinos Moatsos, who emphasized the need to enhance bilateral relations with Greece. President Zardari conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Moatsos in his future endeavors.
