Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP), announced the participation of E. Mitchell Swann as a distinguished international speaker at the upcoming International Multidisciplinary Conference (IMC 2026). Mr. Swann, with over three decades of experience in engineering design and project management, will discuss the benefits of pyrolysis as a method for handling municipal solid waste.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, Mr. Swann's presentation, titled "Thinking Outside the Bin: Pyrolysis as an Alternative for MSW Handling," will focus on converting waste into resources such as bio-oil, syngas, and char. The presentation aims to address waste-to-energy solutions and promote circular economy practices, especially in the urban areas of Pakistan. The conference, themed "Innovation for Sustainable Development," will take place on November 17-18, 2026, at UET Lahore.
