KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, inaugurated Karachi’s first newly constructed Water Treatment Plant-I under the Greater Karachi Sewerage Plan, a move aimed at addressing the city’s longstanding water crisis through wastewater treatment and reuse. According to a press release from Media Cell Bilawal House, Bhutto Zardari emphasized at the inauguration ceremony that resolving Karachi’s water issues is a top priority for the PPP.

He outlined that the project is expected to meet the water needs of both industrial and residential areas in Karachi while reducing pollution in the city's water bodies. He pointed out that efforts are underway to maximize the use of available water resources, including a recent water treatment facility in Keamari and future projects aimed at supplying additional water to areas like Lyari and DHA.
