GreenVET Renewable Energy Challenge 2026 Conference Spotlights Youth Innovation at UET Lahore

Lahore: A regional conference under the GreenVET Renewable Energy Challenge 2026 was held at the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in collaboration with the Prime Minister's Youth Programme and Green Youth Movement. The event focused on renewable energy, youth innovation, modern technology, entrepreneurship opportunities, and sustainable development.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the conference brought together representatives from the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, Higher Education Commission, UNICEF, and other relevant institutions, alongside experts, faculty members, and students. Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, emphasized the initiative's goal of equipping Pakistan's youth with modern digital and technical skills to foster economic empowerment. He highlighted the government's efforts in providing equal economic opportunities across the country and stressed the importance of youth engagement in education, skills development, and entrepreneurship.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan also announced that funding would be provided for business startups at UET Lahore, encouraging students to transform innovative ideas into practical business ventures. Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, Professor Dr. Shahid Munir, underscored the university's commitment to fostering an environment conducive to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He praised the students' interest in renewable energy and stressed the potential for collaboration between universities, industry, and the government in developing sustainable solutions.

The conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and an exhibition of innovative student projects. Participants agreed on the potential for connecting the technological skills and entrepreneurial thinking of Pakistan's youth with renewable energy to drive new economic and industrial opportunities for the nation.
