Punjab University Hosts Seminar on Government’s Youth Initiatives

LAHORE: Punjab University Directorate of Student Affairs organized a seminar to raise awareness about the federal government's initiatives aimed at youth and public welfare, held at Al Raazi Hall on Tuesday. The event, attended by Member of the National Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training Rabia Naseem Farooqi, sought to inform students about the government's educational, technological, and economic relief programs.

According to University of the Punjab, the seminar was designed to facilitate the exchange of direct and authentic information about national policies and public welfare programs with young people. Rabia Naseem Farooqi emphasized that improving access to education, technology, and economic opportunities for the youth is a priority for the government. She highlighted the introduction of a special fuel relief program directed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to alleviate economic pressures, particularly for citizens using motorcycles, rickshaws, and small cars.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali reiterated the importance of promoting higher education and the responsibilities of universities in informing students about available opportunities. He discussed the significance of the PM's Laptop Scheme and the Honhaar Scholarship Program in expanding educational access. The seminar underscored the importance of coordination among universities, the government, and youth to ensure informed and empowered citizens capable of contributing to national development.
