Lahore: Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar unveiled the logo for the Pak-China Friendship Summer Games 2026 at a press briefing held at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday. The games, set to take place from September 24 to 28 at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex, aim to commemorate 75 years of friendship between Pakistan and China.

According to Sports Board Punjab, the unveiling ceremony was attended by Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Director Admin Abid Shaukat, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, and other officials. Minister Khokhar announced that the games would feature participation from approximately 2,000 athletes representing all divisions of Punjab. These athletes were selected from a pool of 70,000 candidates who participated in trials.

Minister Khokhar also noted that the top-performing athletes would be inducted into the Punjab Sports Endowment Fund following the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. The games will feature competitions in 11 sports, including table tennis, badminton, wushu, tai chi, gymnastics, athletics, basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, and weightlifting. Additionally, athletes from China will also participate, with a total prize money of Rs5 million to be distributed among the top performers.

The event is part of a series of celebrations organized by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab to honor the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China. Minister Khokhar expressed hope that the games would further strengthen the bond between the two nations.
