KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has criticized the deployment of 2,000 Sindh Police personnel to Islamabad, citing an increase in street crime in Karachi. He argued that the decision compromises the city's security to serve federal political interests.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid described the move as a conspiracy against Karachi's peace, accusing the government of using Karachi's police force to fulfill political agendas in the federal capital. He expressed concern over the allocation of resources, such as special trains, to transport police personnel, suggesting it exploits public funds.

Khalid further claimed that the Sindh Police's deployment leaves Karachi citizens vulnerable, as bandits threaten riverine areas. He criticized the provincial government for prioritizing federal political gains over local safety, stating that the decision would face challenges on multiple platforms.

He also emphasized that transforming police into a "political militia" damages public trust and highlighted the potential long-term consequences of prioritizing power over peace. Khalid called on the Sindh government to reconsider its stance, warning against compromising Karachi's security.
