Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in Lahore recently held an international seminar focused on the development of cement-less recycled aggregate concrete in Pakistan. The seminar, organized by the Civil Engineering Department under the HEC-funded National Research Program for Universities, emphasized a sustainable approach to construction that could significantly reduce cement usage, decrease construction waste, conserve natural resources, and lower carbon emissions.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the event featured prominent figures such as Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat, Pro-Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, and Prof. Zia ud Din Mian, who highlighted the potential of cement-less recycled aggregate concrete in promoting a cleaner environment. The seminar also included speakers from Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, who discussed the importance of sustainable construction materials to address global warming and climate change.

Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, lauded the efforts of Dr. Qasim Shaukat Khan, the Principal Investigator, and Prof. Dr. Asad Ullah Qazi, Co-Principal Investigator, for their roles in organizing the seminar. The event concluded with the distribution of shields to the principal investigator, co-principal investigator, and presenters, recognizing their contributions to advancing sustainable construction practices.
