Lahore: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore held an orientation program for newly-admitted undergraduate students at its City Campus on Tuesday. Students from other UVAS campuses, including Ravi Campus Pattoki, CVAS Jhang, and KBCMA-CVAS Narowal, participated in the event via video link.

According to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences press release, the orientation was presided over by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, with several deans and faculty members present. Prof Dr Masood Rabbani congratulated the students and their parents and emphasized the importance of adhering to university rules, dedicating themselves to their studies, and maintaining ethical standards. He highlighted the institution's focus on developing professional skills that contribute to national progress.

The event also featured remarks from other faculty members, who noted that UVAS provides a learning environment conducive to intellectual growth and practical training. Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman highlighted the competitive nature of admissions, revealing that the university received approximately 23,800 applications from across the country, with only 2,200 students gaining admission based on merit.

Additional speakers included Senior Tutor Prof Dr Yasin Tipu, Director Students Affairs Dr Muhammad Oneeb, and Secretary Harassment Committee Dr Ferhan Jamil, who discussed various student support systems. The event concluded with insights into the university's IT and sports facilities, which were detailed by Director Information Technology Centre Mr Rizwan Saleem and Director Sports Rana Amjad Iqbal.
