UET Lahore Enhances Academic Ties with Germany

Bonn: A high-level delegation of Pakistani higher education leaders, including the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, engaged in strategic discussions in Germany aimed at boosting international academic collaborations. The visit, centered in Bonn, focused on fostering research partnerships, faculty exchanges, scholarships, and student mobility.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the delegation, led by the Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), comprised top academic officials from UET Lahore, the University of the Punjab, NUST, and COMSATS. The group also included representation from the Pakistani Embassy in Germany. They visited the University of Bonn, where Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir presented a UET Lahore souvenir to the Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Birgit Ulrike Münch, symbolizing the strengthening ties between the institutions.

The delegation also conducted discussions at the DAAD Head Office in Bonn, aiming to enhance scholarship opportunities, faculty exchange programs, research collaborations, and the establishment of Centers of Excellence. These initiatives are seen as pivotal steps towards expanding academic cooperation between Pakistan and Germany, offering greater opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers.
