Sargodha: The Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) at the University of Sargodha held a successful quiz competition to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The event, part of broader celebrations, featured teams from five universities and was structured in two stages: Internal and Divisional Levels.
According to University of Sargodha, the Internal Level competition was limited to its students, who participated in two rounds that led to the formation of teams advancing to the Divisional Level. The final stage took place at the Malik Firoz Khan Noon Business School, with nine teams participating from A.G. Niazi University, University of Lahore's Sargodha Campus, University of Mianwali, University of Sargodha, and Namal University. The quiz focused on various aspects of Pakistan-China relations, including history, culture, diplomacy, and contemporary issues.
Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of PICS, emphasized the significance of such academic activities in fostering understanding between the two nations. University of Sargodha Team A emerged victorious, followed by Team B in second place, and A.G. Niazi University Team A in third.
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha, commended PICS for organizing the event and awarded cash prizes and certificates to the winners. The event concluded with acknowledgments to all participants and organizers, highlighting the competition's role in promoting academic excellence and understanding of Pakistan-China ties.
