Sargodha: The University of Sargodha announced the permanent appointment of 118 staff members and the promotion of 16 employees in a recent ceremony, marking a significant development in the institution's staffing policies. This move, approved by the university's Syndicate and aligned with the Higher Education Department's Permanent Workman Policy, aims to recognize employee dedication and improve administrative efficiency.
According to University of Sargodha, the ceremony took place at the University's Multipurpose Hall and was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Abbas Haider Gondal, Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, as well as deans, directors, and university employees. Prof. Dr. Abbas highlighted the progress made during his four-year tenure, including development projects worth Rs. 65 billion that have elevated the university's standing among Pakistan's top institutions.
Registrar Waqar Ahmad noted that over 500 teachers and employees were regularized during Prof. Dr. Abbas's tenure, with 735 staff members receiving time-scale benefits and over 100 employees promoted. The Registrar's Office played a key role in these achievements, reflecting the Vice Chancellor's dedication to institutional development. Director Co-Curricular Forum Dr. Munir Gujjar and Director Sports Mehr Ahmad Khan Haral also acknowledged Prof. Dr. Abbas's contributions, with Haral presenting a report on the university's accomplishments since its inception in 2002.
