Lahore: A second coaching clinic aimed at nurturing young cricket talent was conducted at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Tuesday, as part of the PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools. Students from the Star School cricket team received mentorship from renowned cricketers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Nawaz.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the initiative is part of a larger effort to prepare for the second edition of the PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools, which involves training and preparation camps for 1,400 schools across 100 districts. These camps have been in progress since mid-August, building anticipation for the tournament's commencement on September 19, with the opening match set to take place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The School Cricket season has seen a resurgence, supported by the PCB and aligned with the vision of the PCB Chairman, aiming to provide playing opportunities to approximately 21,000 students in this edition. During the clinic, players from Star School had their techniques scrutinized by national players, with Haris Rauf focusing on guiding fast bowlers, Mohammad Nawaz on spin bowling, and Shaheen Shah Afridi offering insights into both pace bowling and batting.

The sessions provided not only technical guidance but also an opportunity for the schoolkids to observe the training routines of professional cricketers at the National Cricket Academy.
