KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi held a tribute ceremony for renowned poet Abbas Tabish at the Haseena Moin Hall. Presided over by acclaimed poet Zehra Nigah, the event was attended by prominent literary figures, including President of the Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah, Professor Sahar Ansari, Fariha Naqvi, and Wajeeh Sani.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Zehra Nigah addressed the gathering, noting the resilience of the traditional mushaira and praising Abbas Tabish for his contributions to contemporary Urdu literature. She remarked that a single couplet could become a poet's identity, emphasizing the lasting impact of quality poetry. Abbas Tabish expressed gratitude for the presence of Zehra Nigah, highlighting the importance of respect for senior literary figures and urging the younger generation to stay connected with classical literature.

Muhammad Ahmed Shah acknowledged the significance of the event and reiterated the Arts Council's commitment to hosting literary programs in Urdu, Sindhi, and other languages. He announced an upcoming event with Ahmed Salman, emphasizing the role of cultural activities in reducing societal divisions and promoting cultural values. The ceremony concluded with bouquets presented to Zehra Nigah and Abbas Tabish in recognition of their contributions.
