Islamabad: During the recently concluded 29th session of the National Assembly, attendance statistics indicate a noteworthy gap, with a significant portion of members missing from key proceedings. Out of 332 members, only 65 attended all eight sittings held between August 17 and August 28, 2026, while 37 members failed to attend any session.

According to Free and Fair Election Network, the session saw the highest attendance during the fourth sitting, with 247 members present, accounting for 74 percent of the current membership. In contrast, the fifth sitting recorded the lowest turnout, with 179 members, or 54 percent, in attendance. Overall, 267 members, representing 80 percent, missed at least one sitting during the session.

The report highlights that among the cabinet members, one federal minister maintained full attendance, whereas two federal ministers and one minister of state did not attend any session. The Prime Minister participated in one sitting, while the Leader of the Opposition was present for seven out of the eight sittings. Of the 26 federal ministers expected to respond during Question Hour, 12 were present, and out of the eight ministers required to address Calling Attention Notices, four attended.
