Lahore: University of Wah (UW) and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Punjab have entered into a strategic five-year partnership to introduce the "Youth for Humanity" initiative at the university. The agreement, executed under the directives of Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, the Governor of Punjab and President of PRCS Punjab, aims to involve students in humanitarian activities, emergency preparedness, and environmental resilience.

According to University of Wah, the initiative will integrate students into a digital blood donor network, conduct annual campus blood donation drives, offer certified First Aid Training, and establish Campus Emergency Response Teams. Additionally, a Climate Action and Green Campus Program will engage students as "Green Champions" in environmental resilience activities.

PRCS Punjab will provide 30 annual internship opportunities to UW students, with exceptional volunteers gaining the chance to represent the university at national and international forums. The university will support projects such as plantation initiatives, emergency drills, and workshops, while also registering student blood donors with PRCS's secure database. The initiative’s progress will be monitored by designated representatives from both institutions, with regular updates provided to Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, UW Vice-Chancellor, and PRCS leadership.

During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi presented a shield and certificate of appreciation to honor the collaboration. The partnership is intended to empower youth through humanitarian service, enhance emergency preparedness, meet blood donation needs, and promote environmental sustainability, contributing to a more resilient Pakistan.
