Lahore: The Department of Environmental Science at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) hosted a ceremony for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Al-Jazari Water and Sanitation Academy. The agreement aims to enhance collaborative research and capacity-building in the water and sanitation sector.

According to Forman Christian College, the MoU was signed by Dr. Jonathan S. The ceremony saw participation from key officials including Mr. Tayyab Farid, Director General of WASA Punjab, and Mr. Saleem Ashraf, Additional Director General of WASA Punjab, along with other representatives from AJWA.

AJWA, established in 2014 with funding from the Japan International Cooperation Agency, is Punjab's official training and research body for the water and sanitation sector. This partnership is set to leverage the Department of Environmental Sciences' expertise in water quality monitoring, supported by its Water Analysis Centre, and enhance ongoing research on water and wastewater treatment.

The collaboration underscores FCCU's commitment to research excellence and sustainability. It is expected to offer significant opportunities for faculty and students, particularly from the Environmental Science and Business and Economics departments, through joint research initiatives, internships, and community-focused projects.
