Islamabad: NUST Iqbal Executive Development Centre (IEDC) has finalized a new flagship program focused on strategic water resource management and governance. The initiative aims to address Pakistan's critical water scarcity issues, which have seen the country's per capita water availability decrease from over 5,000 cubic meters in 1951 to less than 900 cubic meters today. This program will cover key areas such as irrigation modernization and transboundary water governance.

According to National University of Sciences and Technology, the public sector team at NUST IEDC collaborated with experts, including Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Country Director at the International Water Management Institute, and Mr. Ahmed Kamal, former Chairman of the Federal Flood Commission, to finalize the program. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with current and former heads of federal water institutions, and the course will culminate in a field visit to NUST's innovative water systems.
