Beijing: Dr. Nazish Shahid, Chair of the Department of Mathematics, has successfully concluded her international teaching and research tenure at the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) in Beijing, where she taught courses in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Statistics as part of a dual degree bachelor's program with The University of Arizona, Tucson.

According to Forman Christian College, Dr. Shahid's two-semester appointment, fully funded by The University of Arizona and CUEB, included supervising undergraduate research students and conducting research on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA). Her research focused on identifying efficient investment strategies and exploring their impact on financial portfolio optimization using advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence, and statistical methods.

Upon her return to Forman Christian College, Dr. Shahid resumed her role as Chair of the Department of Mathematics. She plans to integrate the advanced teaching and learning practices acquired during her tenure in China into the mathematics curriculum, aiming to enhance student learning experiences and contribute to the development of the department and the wider academic community.
