Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended felicitations to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, the Federal Council, and the people of Switzerland on the occasion of their National Day.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari emphasized the warm and cordial relations between Pakistan and Switzerland, grounded in mutual trust, shared values, and constructive cooperation. He underscored the importance Pakistan places on its multifaceted relationship with Switzerland, highlighting key areas such as trade, investment, technology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, mountain tourism, climate resilience, and textiles.

President Zardari noted the shared commitment of both nations to international peace and their productive engagement across various multilateral forums. He acknowledged Switzerland's role in promoting global peace and its hosting of several important global bodies, including the United Nations, where Pakistan maintains a permanent mission in Geneva.

The President expressed confidence in the continued expansion and deepening of friendship and collaboration between the two countries, aiming for the mutual benefit of their people in the coming years.
