Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has called for a peaceful protest outside the Karachi Press Club on August 5. The protest is being organized to mark three years of what the party describes as the unjust imprisonment of PTI founder Imran Khan. Khalid has urged citizens, particularly students, to participate in the demonstration.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the protest aims to demand the immediate release of Imran Khan, the independence of the judiciary, and the supremacy of the Constitution of Pakistan. Khalid emphasized that public involvement is crucial for improving the country's conditions and has appealed to students, traders, and the general public to join the demonstration. He noted that the youth of Karachi should actively participate in securing their future, citing the lack of opportunities despite their educational investments.

Khalid also addressed economic issues, highlighting the instability of petrol prices and its impact on the transport sector. He criticized the Sindh government, led by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, for the poor state of Karachi’s roads, suggesting the city should be declared a 'Kacha area' due to its infrastructure problems.

Additionally, Khalid condemned an incident involving alleged medical negligence at a private hospital, where a mother died and an FIR was registered against her son. He described the situation as an example of power misuse and pledged PTI’s support for the affected family.

The protest is scheduled for 4 PM on August 5 at the Karachi Press Club, where PTI leadership will engage with the public to advocate for their demands.
