LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, in partnership with Huzaifa International Sargodha Pakistan, held a seminar focused on "Immunization and Disease Control in Livestock" at its City Campus. The event, attended by experts from Turkey and Pakistan, highlighted challenges in animal health and discussed modern solutions for disease management.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the seminar was inaugurated by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani. Key speakers included Dr. Abdullah Tutak, CEO of Vetal Animal Health Products from Turkey, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Haksoz, a microbiologist from Ankara University. The seminar gathered professionals, researchers, faculty members, and students to discuss advances in livestock immunization and disease diagnosis.
Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani emphasized the need for such seminars to address the challenges faced by the livestock sector in Pakistan, including climate change and the lack of awareness of modern farming techniques among small farmers. He stated that veterinarians play a crucial role in safeguarding animal health and that the seminar provided an opportunity to learn from both national and international experts.
Presentations during the seminar covered topics such as modern vaccine technologies, global immunization strategies, advances in veterinary microbiology, and practical approaches to livestock vaccination. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Mansoor Ahmad, former Director General of the Livestock Department Punjab.
