Sukkur: A recent report indicates that the voter registration rate in Sukkur is 52% of its projected 2025 population, slightly below the national average of 54%, despite a high population estimate. According to figures from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released on December 30, 2025, the number of registered voters in Sukkur totals 876,435, comprising 469,001 males and 407,434 females.
According to the Free and Fair Election Network, these statistics were drawn from district-wise electoral roll data and cross-referenced with population estimates from the 2023 Digital Census. Sukkur's estimated population for 2025 is 1,693,793, based on a 1.63% annual growth rate applied to its 2023 census population of 1,639,897. The voter registration rate is calculated by dividing the number of registered voters by this estimated population.
Sukkur ranks 62nd in population size out of 136 districts nationwide and 72nd in voter registration rates. Within Sindh, it is 12th out of 30 districts. The discrepancy in voter registration compared to the national average is attributed to in-migration patterns, where individuals from nearby rural areas are counted in Sukkur's population during the census but remain registered to vote in their original localities.
The gender gap in voter registration is also notable, with females constituting 46.5% of the registered voters, resulting in a gap of 7.0%. This highlights the need for targeted registration outreach efforts for women in Sukkur ahead of upcoming general elections.
