UoS Secures Top Position in Punjab Research Rankings, Plans Overseas Expansion

Sargodha: Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, engaged in a meeting with Punjab Minister for Higher Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan, to review development initiatives and the university’s recent accomplishments in academia and research.

According to University of Sargodha, the meeting, which included other dignitaries such as Chairman Punjab Zakat & Ushr Council Rana Munawar Ghous Khan, Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Malik Shoaib Awan, and Member Punjab Assembly Mian Sultan Ali Ranjha, focused on the university's achievements in the Higher Education Commission's research productivity rankings. The University of Sargodha achieved the first position among general category universities in Punjab and ranked ninth on a national level, surpassing notable institutions like the Lahore University of Management Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas discussed three strategic initiatives the university is pursuing: an Offshore Campus in China, a Sino-Pak Hospital, and an International Boarding School. These projects aim to enhance the university's global reach and research capabilities.

Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat praised the university's achievements and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas. He recognized the administration's commitment to advancing academic standards and research. The minister assured that the provincial government would continue to support efforts to bolster higher education, foster a research-oriented environment, and increase international collaboration opportunities for universities across Punjab.
