PU ORIC Committee Evaluates Research Projects and Future Initiatives

LAHORE: A meeting of the Punjab University Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization Steering Committee took place under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali. The committee reviewed ongoing and upcoming research projects and initiatives at the university.

According to University of the Punjab, the meeting was attended by several key figures, including university officials and industry representatives. Engr. Prof. Dr. Aqil Inam, the Director of ORIC, presented the current research and commercialization activities, noting the execution of five international research projects, 37 national research projects, and 471 projects within the university. Additionally, the university was granted five new national patents this financial year. The newly approved RIC Policy 2026 was also discussed, which aims to incentivize faculty and enhance the university's development.

Arrangements for the upcoming 11th Invention to Innovation Summit 2026, in collaboration with the Punjab Higher Education Commission and PINTEC 26, were highlighted. This summit is expected to provide opportunities for faculty and students to showcase their projects and technologies. Additionally, plans for the Pakistan-China scientific collaborations mega technology expo were deliberated. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali commended the ORIC's efforts and encouraged further contributions to elevate the university's standing.
