President Zardari Reaffirms Pakistan’s Support for Palestinians on Nakba Day

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari marked International Nakba Day by reaffirming Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people and their struggle for self-determination, freedom, and dignity. The day serves as a reminder of the events in 1948 that resulted in the displacement of numerous Palestinians, highlighting their ongoing challenges.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari emphasized that the Nakba remains a continuous reality for Palestinians, characterized by occupation and denial of rights. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights at the United Nations and other international platforms, guided by principles of justice and international law. Zardari called on the international community to support Palestinian refugees and uphold their Right of Return, as stated in Resolution 194.

Pakistan continues to urge for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the provision of humanitarian aid to Palestinians. The country remains committed to supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. Zardari concluded with a call for international collaboration to achieve a comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue.
