Turbat: The University of Turbat has completed the Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) cycle for Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) of its graduate programs under the Higher Education Commission’s PSG-2023 framework. The conclusion of this cycle, marked by site visits on May 8-9, 2026, involved a comprehensive review of seven graduate programs, including two PhD offerings, through the examination of various academic facilities and processes.
According to University of Turbat, seven separate Review Panels, each consisting of three members including an external expert, conducted the evaluations. Dr. Muhammad Irshad, Director ORIC at the University of Gwadar, participated as the external member across all panels. The panels assessed evidence from Self-Assessment Reports (SARs), program files, and scholar files, alongside evaluating governance, laboratory, and library resources. Faculty and student interactions were integral to assessing the overall academic support and teaching processes.
Key observations and recommendations were shared during exit meetings with university leadership, focusing on enhancing admissions, timely degree completion, scholar record maintenance, and developing new programs. The feedback also emphasized strengthening governance, improving documentation practices, and upgrading laboratory, library, digital, and internet facilities. The Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation for the feedback and committed to supporting the implementation of the recommendations. Dr. Riaz Ahmed highlighted the collaborative effort of stakeholders in completing the PREE cycle, underscoring the university’s dedication to enhancing its quality assurance systems and academic standards.
