Lahore: A strategic meeting of principal investigators for the Punjab Higher Education Commission’s flagship Research and Development Cluster on Minerals and Rare Earth Metals was hosted on January 28, 2026, at the University of Central Punjab (UCP). The gathering focused on budget planning, a research roadmap, and the implementation framework, aiming to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and resource utilization.
According to University of Central Punjab, the meeting was led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, who heads the Department of Basic and Applied Chemistry at UCP and serves as the cluster’s principal investigator. Co-principal investigators, including Dr. Tahir Ahmad from the University of the Punjab and Dr. Muhammad Shahzad from UET Lahore, participated in the discussions. The meeting was a significant step in operationalizing this initiative, which seeks to advance research in minerals and rare earth metals across the province.
