Pakistan Announces Squad for 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka

Lahore: Pakistan has unveiled its 15-member squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, as announced by the International Cricket Council. The team, led by Salman Ali Agha, will compete in the tournament starting February 7, with hopes of securing their second title since their 2009 victory.

According to International Cricket Council, the squad features notable players, including Babar Azam, who recently became the all-time leading run-getter in Men's T20 Internationals. Pakistan's pace attack will rely heavily on Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, especially in the absence of Haris Rauf. The team also boasts a strong lineup of all-rounders, with Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz offering versatile options both with the bat and ball.

Pakistan is placed in Group A, alongside co-hosts and defending champions India, as well as the Netherlands, USA, and Namibia. The team is set to begin their campaign against the Netherlands on February 7 in Colombo. Subsequent group matches include fixtures against the USA on February 10, India on February 15, and Namibia on February 18, all in Colombo.
