Usman Khan Penalized for Dissent at President’s Cup Match

Lahore: Usman Khan, a player for Sahir Associates, has been fined his full match fee for violating the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) code of conduct during a President’s Cup One-Day Tournament match against Khan Research Laboratories. The incident occurred on December 8, 2025, and involved a breach of Article 2.8, which pertains to showing dissent at an umpire’s decision.

The violation happened after Usman Khan was declared out leg-before-wicket. Following the decision, Khan engaged in an extended discussion with the umpire, behavior that was assessed as ‘very harsh and obscene’ towards the officials.

The charge was brought by on-field umpires Khalid Mahmood Sr. and Abdul Moqeet, with match referee Bilal Khilji determining the sanction. The PCB made the announcement in a press release, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining discipline in the sport.
