ICA 2025 Regional Hub Unites Global Communication Experts

Lahore: The International Communication Association (ICA) 2025 Regional Hub concluded at Forman Christian College University (FCCU) on June 14, drawing communication professionals, scholars, and researchers to address pressing issues in media and communication. Held in conjunction with the ICA Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, this event underscored global collaboration through parallel discussions across various regional contexts.

The ICA Regional Hub in Lahore was made possible by a competitive grant secured by Dr. Firasat Jabeen, positioning Pakistan as one of the eight countries globally selected to host such hubs. The other hosts included China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, and New Zealand.

The event featured keynote speeches from prominent figures including journalist Raza Rumi, Muhammad Junaid, Professor Mohan Dutta from Massey University, and Professor Noshir Contrator from Northwestern University. These speeches provided insights into contemporary challenges and innovations within the field.

The hub attracted over seventy participants, both physically present and virtually connected, culminating in a closing keynote by renowned scholar Arfa Sayeda Zehra. Through this initiative, FCCU’s Department of Mass Communication demonstrated its commitment to enhancing scholarly collaboration and promoting research in communication studies on a national and international level.
